HM receives call from French president

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik received a phone call today from French President Emmanuel Macron.

During the call, the two leaders reviewed developments in the region in light of the announced ceasefire. They stressed the importance of consolidating this direction and building on it, as well as continuing international efforts to address the root causes of the conflict in a way that enhances regional and global security and stability.

President Macron also expressed his sincere appreciation to His Majesty for Oman’s recent efforts in securing the release of two French nationals detained in the Islamic Republic of Iran, commending the Sultan’s constructive and active role in supporting de-escalation and peaceful diplomatic solutions.
